Every pound’s a prisoner – get better with budgeting

Financial jargon may be a turn-off to some, especially younger employees, but one way of engaging people with financial wellbeing is to educate them.

Start answering some key questions and you begin to build knowledge and commitment to saving for the future.

Our next financial wellbeing workshop – ‘Every pound’s a prisoner’ (April 19th 2018) – will engage, enthuse and inspire anyone who may need help with their budgeting.

Questions we hear all the time include:

  • ‘How much do I have to save to make a real difference?’
  • ‘How can I save now when every penny has to go on current costs?’
  • ‘What does all this financial jargon mean?’
  • ‘What happens if I leave my company – will I lose my pension too?’

Finding answers to these pressing queries will really help to improve financial wellbeing. According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), 55% of workers say that being able to save for the future is one of the most important aspects of financial wellbeing, yet 58% face obstacles in managing their money – and financial jargon is one of them.

Unlike many financial experts, we believe knowledge is only power if it’s shared with those who need it. We’re more than happy to pass on what we know in layman’s terms. If people take responsibility for their financial future, their sense of security and wellbeing will improve.

You don’t need to lock your employees in a room for eight hours with a scary financial adviser either. Our aim is to make saving and budgeting real and relevant to every employee.
