Lifting your gaze: building a long-term reward and performance architecture

When it comes to boosting productivity, employee engagement is only part of the story. Deborah Rees-Frost, CEO and Director of Consulting at Innecto Reward Consulting (pictured right), believes that reward professionals have a key role to play.

‘The UK’s productivity lags behind much of continental Europe and many other major economic rivals,’ she says. ‘It’s time to challenge reward professionals to go beyond accepting employee engagement as a proxy for productivity.’

At our next HR Spotlight here at PES, Deborah will be discussing how reward and compensation management, responsible for the largest single spend in most businesses, can help to bring UK productivity into line with our European counterparts.

Here are some of the key points she’ll be covering.

  1. How can compensation drive the message about the key drivers of the business?

Is your performance-related pay scheme really focused on what really makes the difference in the company? Are you effective in challenging the top team about their understanding of how reward can drive progress?

  1. How does reward work in today’s agile world?

The annual pay and performance review looks increasingly obsolete in a fast-paced global world. How can you create something simpler and faster which empowers managers and employees to increase their productivity?

  1. How can you future-proof your organisation?

Organisational design usually sits under the reward and HR team – but how pro-active are you in considering the longer-term needs of the business? Understanding your roles and talent pipeline today is the only way to meet the business challenges tomorrow – whether that’s to do with technology, governance or risk management.

Come along to our next HR Spotlight to find out more.
